Them original counties of Lennox & Addington, joined together within 1860, got been known as when Charles Lennox, 3rd Duke of Richmond and Henry Addington, 1st Viscount Sidmouth, respectively. Unlike virtually all county mergers in the 19th century, Lennox & Addington was the to the full amalgamation of the two counties into one government.
